What's New in Version 1.1?

Experimental Data Analyst 1.1 includes new functions, new options for existing functions, greatly enhanced online documentation, and additional checks for inconsistent or pathological inputs for many functions. The user will also notice significant performance improvements resulting in part from the package's use of advances in Mathematica 4 and subsequent versions.

New in Version 1.1

  • New Quick Reference notebook keyed to the online Help Browser

  • New function FitExponent to automatically fit to an exponential without the biases of linearization procedures

  • New routine FitPeaks to automatically fit to Gaussian or Lorentzian peaks

  • New option to extrapolate the graphical presentation of the results of a fit

  • Two new real-world data sets

  • Improved handling of pathological data for the nonlinear procedure FindFit

  • Improved handling of basis functions for LinearFit

  • FindPeaks now also returning the number of peaks found

  • Improved optional tracing for SmoothData
